Accessibility statement
IncluBridge is built so every family can use it, whatever device, language, or assistive technology you rely on. Accessibility is the point of this tool, not an afterthought.
What IncluBridge supports today
- Full keyboard navigation, including a skip-to-content link and a visible focus ring on every interactive element.
- Screen-reader labels on all controls; meaningful headings and landmark regions on every page.
- Touch targets of at least 48×48 px on the surfaces families use most.
- Respects your device's “reduce motion” setting: non-essential animation is turned off when you ask for it.
- Color is never the only way information is shown; status uses text and shape as well as color, and deadlines use soft amber rather than alarming red.
- Plain language by default (about a 7th-grade reading level), with a Simple / Standard / Detailed reading-level setting.
- Six languages (English, Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, Vietnamese, and Haitian Creole), with correct right-to-left layout for Arabic.
- Built on a light, low-saturation color palette chosen to reduce visual stress; backgrounds are never pure white.
- Compatible with switch-scanning and dwell (eye-gaze / head-tracking) input through the IncluAccess input layer.
The standard we hold ourselves to
- Target standard: WCAG 2.2 Level AA as the floor, with Level AAA as the goal on family-facing flows.
- Aligned with the U.S. Department of Justice ADA Title II web rule (28 CFR Part 35) and Section 508 expectations for educational technology.
What we're still improving
- Rights information and the jargon glossary are fully written in English and Spanish today; Mandarin, Arabic, Vietnamese, and Haitian Creole show the app's menus in-language while the detailed rights text is being professionally translated. Until then it appears in English with a clear note to ask your school for documents in your language.
- Automatic translation of your own text is a reading aid, not an official translation; the original is always one tap away.
